The Queen of Talk Oprah Winfrey spoke directly to viewers about ending The Oprah Winfrey Show at a live taping Friday.

The Oprah Winfrey Show will depart daytime broadcast television come Sept. 9, 2011.

After much prayer and months of careful thought, I have decided that next season, season 25, will be the last season of The Oprah Winfrey Show,” the daytime queen said. “Over the next couple of days, you may hear a lot of speculation in the press about why I am making this decision now…and that will mostly be conjecture.

“So why walk away and make next season the last? Here is the real reason: I love this show,” Winfrey said. “This show has been my life. And I love it enough to know when it’s time to say good-bye. Twenty-five years feels right in my bones, and it feels right in my spirit. It’s the perfect number — the exact right time. So I hope that you will take this 18-month ride with me right through to the final show.”

Press release from Harpo Productions stated that she “plans to appear and participate in new programming for OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, a 24-hour cable network that reflects her vision, values and interests.” The launch of that project has now been set for January 2011, according to the release.

Oprah thanked her viewers for sticking with her for almost a quarter of a century. “These years with you, our viewers, have enriched my life beyond all measure,” she said. “And you all have graciously invited me into your living rooms, into your kitchens, and into your lives. And for some of you long time Oprah viewers, you have literally grown up with me — we’ve grown together.

“So I just wanted to say that whether you’ve been here with me from the beginning or you came on board last week, I want you all to know that my relationship with you is one that I hold very dear. And your trust in me, the sharing of your precious time every day with me has brought me the greatest joy I have ever known.”

So, the countdown to the end of The Oprah Winfrey Show starts now and until  Septemeber 2011 when it ends, I intend to soak up every meaningful, joy-filled moment with you, Winfrey said.

The King of Pop’s Death could turn into a  criminal case depending on the results of pending toxicology tests. Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton told CNN on Thursday that his department is awaiting the coroner’s final report to decide whether to proceed with the investigation as either a homicide case or an accidental drug overdose.

They are still waiting for results to find out if they’re dealing with a homicide, or dealing with accidental overdose?”

A source told CNN that doctors who refused to cooperate with investigators were issued subpoenas, and, if necessary, authorities will issue more as their probe widens. While Bratton would not elaborate on what investigators found at Beverly Hills-area home Jackson was renting, he confirmed that “a number of items” that will assist in the investigation were seized. CNN has reported that numerous bottles of prescription drugs were taken into evidence following Jackson’s death, and other media outlets have claimed that among the drugs found was the powerful anesthetic Diprivan, which is not intended for private use outside a doctor’s office.

It was found that the King of pop suffered anxiety from child molestation against him-of, which he was acquitted in 2005. Former employees of the singer said Jackson took more than 10 anti-anxiety Xanax pills a night to get to sleep. The document also said he often obtained the medication under his employees’ names.

The 2004 document contains comments from one of Jackson’s security guards, who told sheriff’s deputies that he expressed concern about the amount of medicine Jackson was taking to get to sleep to another staffer, who reportedly replied that this was an improvement “because he was down from 30 to 40 Xanax pills a night.”

Documents from the sheriff’s office investigation also relates a story from a security guard who said he quit working for the singer after Jackson “fell on his face” in a hotel room and hurt himself. The employee allegedly told Jackson around that time that he was not comfortable getting prescriptions for him and left his employ.
